What We Love About This Project:
- Stairway Exposé: We decided to light up the staircases for the duplex and show them off! We implemented a ladder window scheme to maximize daylight that will spill into the open spaces. This also allowed us to make a feature out of the typical “eyesore stair penthouses”. On the back building, we exposed a portion of the stair so that the views over the roof decks are maximized and the penthouses are minimized.
- Privacy Please: The tricky topography of this site allowed us to make very private entries, either on stoops or along the side lot line.
- Red Alert: Okay guilty, this is both Curtis and Sarah’s favorite color. We were excited to implement a snappy deep red to offset the cream paneling throughout the project. But don’t let the amount of cream fool you…we have also implemented both lap siding and shifted panels to create a modern eye-catching pattern against a traditional, soothing color.
